Caren Z. Turner was nominated to the Board of Commissioners by Governor Chris Christie. She joined the Board on March 17, 2017.
Caren Z. Turner is the Founder and CEO of Turner Government and Public Affairs. She has done federal, state and international business and advocacy work in the aerospace industry, including military fighter jets and satellites; the maritime industry, including international shipping, usage of Navy oilers, ferries and ROVs; ground transportation, including electric cars, ambulance services, trucks and postal vehicles. She is an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University, School of Political Management.
Ms. Turner has served as a Trustee of numerous non-profits and political organizations including Georgetown University Law Alumni Board, Women's Campaign Fund, Center for Hope and Safety. She has served as one of the Co-Chairmen of the National Finance Committee of Ready for Hillary, the National Finance Committee for Jon Corzine for Governor and Kirsten Gillibrand for Senate. She has helped run several political action committees. She began her career in politics by working for Senator Edward Kennedy and on the Senate Banking Committee for Senator William Proxmire.
Ms. Turner holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center where she was on the law review, Law and Policy in International Business, an executive (“mini") MBA from Rutgers University, a BA from Brandeis University where she studied Political Science and Spanish Literature.
